A letter from our family
My name is Shaheen. Laila is my wife, and the shop is named for her.
In October 2024 everything in our house started being scheduled around Laila's treatment. We have three kids, Shawkat, Tolen and Zain, and they've watched all of it from close up.
What we learned that year was smaller than we expected. Food showing up at the door without anyone asking first. A blanket that lived on the chair so it was always within reach.
So that's what we make. This blanket is the best thing we do. The garden runs all the way off the edges, so there's no border and no single rose sitting in the middle waiting to be admired. From across a room it reads as fabric. Nobody wants a poster on their lap.
Picking a size
This is what people email us about most.
50" × 60" is the chair blanket. It covers someone shoulders to feet in a recliner and doesn't drag on the floor when they get up. Send this one if you're picturing a person in one chair for most of an afternoon.
60" × 80" is the couch blanket. Long enough to stretch out under, and wide enough that two people can share it, which matters more than you'd think when somebody else wants in. It also lies across the end of a bed.
